Best breakfast experience I've ever had in Red Deer. The hashbrowns were amazing. A lot of food for a good price! 10/10. Almost wanted to keep it a secret cause it's so good and it was not busy! Great work.
I really enjoyed eating here. The server was friendly and efficient. The food was great and the atmosphere was the way it should be with a diner. I loved the retro feel. It's definitely worth going there. The prices are good too.<br/
The food is excellent as well as the service. We have been coming here every week for 3 years, since we moved to Red Deer and discovered this treasure!
Me and my wife came for lunch after seeing that this diner was highly recommended. I 'm going to break down my overall review into 3 categories: ambience, service, and food. Ambience: I loved the vibe of this restaurant from the décor to the fifties tunes that were playing. They definitely got the ambience right. 5/5Service: Our waitress was very helpful. We came with our two small children, and our server helped with them, giving them coloring pages to help keep them entertained while waiting for our food. 4.5/5Food: I ordered the Queen 's special burger with fries. This burger has two patties. My wife ordered the beef dip. Our fries were quite well done with a good crunch, though I prefer mine a little bit saltier. The toppings on my burger were great....BUT...The burger patties were completely overdone and dry. Also, if the bun was toasted I didn 't notice. The bun really should be toasted to hold up to the contents which are heavy and hopefully juicy. The bottom bun was thin, untoasted, and therefore completely fell apart. I ended up having to eat bits and pieces with a knife and fork. As far as the patties being overdone, I realize that ground beef has to be cooked through, but a cook who knows what he or she is doing should be able to make a well cooked yet juicy burger. I should mention that my wife had exactly the same problems with her beef dip. The meat was dry, the bun wasn 't toasted, overall just a sad beef dip. I think we both expected better from this diner. Based just on the food, she would have given this diner a rating of 1.5/5. For me, other parts of the food were quite well done, so I think I might be a little generous with a rating of 2.5/5 for the food.Overall we probably will not be back for lunch. We may at some time in the future come for breakfast. To sum up, I agree with another reviewer who said 'They 're not as good as they think they are. '
