フィードバックを提供するI used to go to this restaurant regularly and was looking forward to taking my partner for a birthday meal . Having booked I hoped a table was ready . When we arrived we we lead over to a table that was not made up . Cutlery was literally thrown on our table . There was rice on my partners chair and he later told me there was food under the table . No one lit our candle and the waiters were sullen and very slow with service . My curry tasted like tomato soup with chicken in it . The restaurant was not busy but we had to wait for nearly 15 mins to pay our bill . All in all a disappointing experience compared to the previous visits in the past .
My son took me here for Mother's Day. At 2pm there were sufficient dinners for a pleasant atmosphere. I liked the spotlessly white linen tablecloth and napkin and a red rose in a vase. We had the buffet. First- poppadums -crisp and delicious and a tray of the normal relishes. Starters- Onion bahjees, chicken wings, naan and salad. The bahjee was good but the naan was like leather. The main course- chicken curries, lamb dishes and vegetable dishes with delicious rice. I enjoyed the combination of flavours. The curries were well cooked but could have been a little hotter- I am not sure the big silver serving dishes keep them as hot as when they are first cooked? At the end, being presented with a single red rose was delightful.
Excellent food, utterly delicious and couldn 't be much better. With prices for mains for £9 £13 this represents excellent value. The service was the only thing that lets this place down, from the actions and dialogue of the waiters it appears as if they work in fear of upsetting their 'boss ' which results in a clunky, indecisive and unorganised service. Not at all rude, quite welcoming, I just think they need to relax. But the food is so good here, that this aspect of the experience has been greatly outweighed and I will definitely go again.
Bina Tandoori, Caversham Always a great curry and staff are always friendly
The food's usually good at the BINA, but this time it was exceptional. We were worried as there was a large group of around 30 with another group of 10 imminent,so the noise levels were unusually high. But the food and service were exemplary. The service was of a high standard too but we're still annoyed that only women get handed a red rose on departure!
