El Maguey Mexican - Raytown

Been going here for years. They've never let me down. Best El Magueys around. Food is always amazing.

This is the 2nd one of these I 've been to and while my daughter calls this her go to Mexican restaurant, I 'm underwhelmed. Not a lot of spice so no heat at all in the food or the salsa. I ordered 3 chili rellanos and the serving size was large and cheesy, but not very flavorful...no yum moment!

Food set my stomach on edge. Never got sick, it just didn't feel well after eating there.

I visited recently on a Friday night, where they were quite busy. The chips and drinks were prompt, copious, and crunchy. Even though they were busy. I ordered the Tacos de Carne Asada. They came with the green chile sauce that was quite nice. And they gave you quite a bit of meat and they weren’t overloaded with toppings. Was it mind blowing? No, however, was the seasoned nice and was it worth the $12.99, sure. We were charged appropriately, and the waiter took good care of us, so would I go back? Sure.
