フィードバックを提供するWe arrived to a full restaurant and were asked to come back after a stroll. Service was good, nice German red wine. We had the chicken schnitzel and beef sourbraren. Both delicious and big portions. Will go back next time!
This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel so we decided to give it a try. It has both inside and garden seating and seemed to be popular as there were many people dining here. The garden was through the archway at the back of the property and was quiet so we decided to give it a try. In Germany you seat yourself at restaurants and we found a table for two and sat down. The wait staff was prompt with the drinks order and we spent some time purusing the menu. However, it became clear that this menu was the same one we had been seeing at any other restaurant we had been to while hiking in this part of Germany. Did the restaurants just photocopy this menu and send it around?? After awhile using our translator was not necessary as we knew all of the menu choices - same soups - same salads and mains. So rather boring but allowed a good comparison between different establishments. So.... I ordered the Goulash and my husband ordered the Sojanka soup and chef salad. There is also a wonderful wild berry dessert which he ordered and I decided to go for the usual apfel struddel with icecream and whip cream. The service is relaxed in most restuarants and no one is in a hurry to rush meals to your table. This allows for a leisurely meal. Our dinners arrived and were good - but not great. My goulash was hot but it was not that flavourful - not spicy at all. It came with 'dumpliing' like bread - which was really great - but again this is the standard accompaniment for this dish at any other restaurant also. My husbands soup was fine but not as good as we had it elsewhere and the salad was fine with a variety of ingredients but the dressing was all at the bottom of the bowl. Dessert was a disappointment with the berry dessert being something akin to blueberry jam and not what was expected. My struddel was ok but the crust was a bit tough. The ambience of the restaurant terrace was nice and the service was good. I was expecting more from this restaurant based on the recommendation. It was adequate but not stellar.
We enjoyed our lunch at this place. The portions were big and food was very tasty. We ordered soljanka, gulasch and gefühlte schweineschnitzel. The waiter consider our wishes and was helpful. Highly recommended
On our way to Prague along the Elbe River we had lunch in this small restaurant in Bad Schandau, run by the cook and his wife. Good and friendly service and very much enjoyed their platter of Trout a la Meunière. Well priced and a good place for a stopover during midday.
Ate here twice in our week's stay in Bad Schaundau. Highly recommend the wild boar ragout (Wildschwein). Best to have a reservation, especially on the weekends.
