Zak's Grill - Rancho Cordova

This was an interesting experience. Our waitress was crazy stressed out and overwhelmed and There were only 2 other coulples present while we were there. The dining host yelled across the room at us most of the evening about being so tired and overworked (there were 3 couples in house). We waited at least 20mins before our order was finally placed, and about 10-15mins to receive it. I think the owner delivered our plates to the table he was very charming and the most professional member of his staff. OH! My friend ordered a Spicy Mule, it was delivered to our table and the bartender forgot to add the daggon liquor. I may try them again hoping this was an off night, but I can’t say I’m looking forward to it or that I’ll be rushing back. Food was decent. Overall it was a very side of the road truck stop diner experience for me.

I would never recommend this place and seriously question the great reviews. My friend and I went here at 6p. A ma. hastily sat us at one table, dropping the silverware and saying sh*t only to ask us to move time a different table. We ordered artichoke dip, chicken sliders and 2 house salads. After waiting over 30 min our food was all brought at once, the onion rings were burnt, missing batter and cold.the sliders were sloppy, and cold. The cheesy artichoke dip was brown and tasted horrible and the bread was cooked on a dirty grill and had charred flakes of whatever was there before. We asked to pay for our salads and drinks and tipped the only waitress based on what our bill would have been. Not only did she mess up the charges but she lost my friends card and couldn 't be bothered to look for it. fortunately I found her card behind the host desk on the floor. Unbelievably bad food and service. no wonder their stars are high, you can 't say you DO NOT RECOMMEND !

If i could give this a negative 10 i would. My friend and i came in at 6 on a sunday. the entire experience was horrible. we were sat at one table, then moved and had to grab our own silverware including what the hostess dropped across the table. we ordered the artichoke dip, 2 house salads and 2 chicken sliders. After 35 minutes our food all came at one. The ranch doesn't taste like ranch but their croutons were good. The artichoke dip tasted nothing like artichoke or cheese. The sliders were cold and looked horrible. The onion rings were missing batter and burnt yet cold. they should clean their grill. After asking for our check because we couldn't eat it, my card was not returned. We told the waitress who said she gave it back. My friend found it on the floor! Can't believe this place is open!

We had dinner here for the first time this evening. We can not say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was out of this world delicious. They add all the special extras that elevate food from great to exceptional. Gene is a fabulous host. He is friendly, personable, and goes out of his way to ensure that your dining experience is perfect. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back often. Can't wait to try all their different offerings.

I am so sad this place is closed. When it was up and running full-steam, we always enjoyed our meal. This area needed a sit-down restaurant for brunch to dinner and this place delivered. I still stand by my previous reviews. Their trout was a welcomed delicious surprise and their wings were the best I ever had. I hope the owners don't give up on the restaurant dream. I'm starting to think this location is cursed.
