It can be hard to find. The only thing that keeps me from 5 stars is the fact that they were listed from most of the drinks on the cocktail menu. But the drinks they had available this day were great?
This place has gone downhill fast. My family typically go to Sushi One to celebrate birthdays. This will be our last time going. Apparently, the restaurant has new management and they have the complete playbook on how to fail and they are executing it to perfection. They don't have a liquor license and are losing alot of money. So to make up for it, they have increased their prices and have decreased quality. The sushi is no longer BOGO free and they have made the sushi portions much smaller, they seem to be using frozen vegetables the come out watery and bland, the sauces that they use seem to be bottled sauces that they add water to in order to stretch out the amount of sauce and overall, they food tasted like everything was frozen. The waiter that assisted us was there only for a month and I wanted to tell him to get out while he can. Unless management changes again or they have an intervention with Gordan Ramsay or Robert Irvine, Sushi One will be closed in less than a year. I would say its the area, but every restaurant around Sushi One was jumping. save your money and go somewhere else.
It?s a bummer they changed ownership. We use to love this place! The hibachi was one of our favorites. Recently ordered and the rice was different tasted terrible. The chicken no longer tasted the same. The food tasted like we picked it up from a cheap hibachi location. Pretty sad! Hope things change!
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Raleigh. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing. Can?t wait to return and wouldn?t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat. Highly recommend!
I used to come to this place fairly regularly before Covid. I love the location, and the food was always very good. Decided to stop in for lunch and was deeply disappointed. The food was good* and the service was friendly, but the place is dark, dirty and dingy, chairs and tables are all falling apart, the walls are dirty. It raises concerns about what the kitchen looks like if the dining room is that dated and uncared for. *We actually only had appetizers and then left because the conditions were a so disconcerting, and again this is a place that sells raw fish. So we walked next door to the crepe restaurant and ate there instead, not only was that place well lit and spotless, we actually saw a waitress with a rag scrubbing a spot on a wall while we were there. It's a shame Sushi One is lacking in maintenance because this was the best sushi place in this part of Raleigh at one time, but sushi is all about attention to detail and there are definitely some details that are lacking in attention.
