Abyssinia Ethiopian - Raleigh

The food was delicious, there are vegetarian / vegan options. People were welcoming and the food came in time. I also know that we were not rushed (I want to take my time to dinner! and music was excellent. Everything was coronated by a good price. Absolutely come back!

First I don't know what a previous post was talking about an 80% health dpt rating. I am looking at the sign and it is 96.5. Anyway really good food. We got the vegetarian and meat combo platters and couldn't finish them. Everything was flavorful and tasty. Seated quickly, friendly waitress and food came in a timely manner.

I had a very disappointing experience with the Ethiopian food here. The dishes lacked authenticity. I've enjoyed some excellent Ethiopian cuisine on the East Coast, but this was below average. We had hoped for good service, but the food took a long time to arrive, even though we were the only customers there, and the quality was simply unacceptable.

The food and atmosphere were excellent—truly authentic! The flavors were fantastic! It was my first visit, and I was really impressed with the meal. I can’t wait to return!

I had a fantastic dining experience here and was truly excited! The food was incredible. The lentils, particularly the red lentils, were outstanding, along with everything else I tried. I highly recommend this place! While the service was definitely slower than what I'm used to at other restaurants, I understand that Ethiopian cuisine often takes a bit longer. The wait for our food was reasonable, and it was absolutely worth it. The flavors were delicious and satisfying without being overpowering. Some other reviewers mentioned long waits to be seated or greeted, but that wasn’t the case for my party or the other guests I noticed. We were all promptly welcomed and attended to. What stood out to me was how friendly, helpful, and creative our server was. It had been a while since I had enjoyed a meal like this, where I wasn’t sneaking bites. This restaurant is a perfect spot to chat with friends, catch up, and enjoy a delightful and hearty meal together. I will definitely be returning!
