If Nonnas only served pizza, I might be more concerned. However, having worked in the industry for many years, I'm familiar with how an unexpected surge of customers can disrupt order timing. They offer a full menu that includes pasta, desserts, salads, and more, which is quite impressive for such a small space. Now, about my visit: the owners were in the lobby responding to Facebook posts, doing their best to keep up with the situation. They had a lot of staff on duty, and the restaurant exuded a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. I casually mentioned the previous Saturday, and they were eager to discuss it. We talked about the unexpected influx of customers, the learning curve for the staff, and the challenges of managing takeout orders. New establishments often require time to adjust, and while they thought they were prepared for a busy night, they were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of customers and ongoing phone orders. They fell behind on orders, particularly items beyond just pizza, and as more customers arrived, the phone kept ringing. Discontent over wait times was evident, but instead of compounding the issues, the owners made a decision that many might hesitate to make: they temporarily stopped taking orders. This wasn’t out of a desire to upset anyone, but to prevent ongoing problems and ensure the quality of their food. They were facing a three-hour wait, and some customers who had been told their wait would be an hour were still waiting due to how busy they got. Yet, people were willing to wait. Why? Because THE FOOD IS AMAZING. I did notice some order mix-ups, but they are genuinely trying to address these issues and are reaching out to everyone who provided feedback. They will grow, adapt, and eventually streamline operations. The best part? The owners genuinely care. They shared their challenges and vision in detail, and it's clear they are passionate about delivering great food to an area that desperately needs it. Thank you, Nonnas! Absolutely fantastic! The service is top-notch, the food is delicious, and they serve the best pizza in Caledonia! The wings and lasagna are incredible as well.
We had a fantastic experience tonight! My partner and I were reminiscing about the wild times we used to have in pizza places, but this one handled the crowd like a pro! I even made a mistake with my order, and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating to my family and me. The waiting area is small, but very cozy. Plus, Danny's is right next door! The pizza was amazing, and I can't wait to return and spread the word about this place. Thank you to the entire team!
Today I went and picked up a pizza and took it back to my office. It was amazing!!!!! While we were eating there was complete silence in the office. Cooked to perfection just like Wells Bros. It had the cornmeal on the bottom and every bite was amazing. It's great to finally have wonderful food on the north side of Racine. I will definitely be back very soon to get more. When the moon hits your eye like a pizza pie that amore :
Always great food. For a place that's famous for their pizza, they also have shockingly delicious soups, and other options! Prompt and courteous employees that always offer to help me to my car.
