Le Petit Cochon Dingue - Québec

You are spoiled for restaurant choice in Quebec City lower town. We picked this restaurant because it looked inviting with its many sunshades and busy location. It turned out to be a good choice. I had a Croque Monsieur and my wife chose a duck pasta. Both were delicious, washed down with cold draft beer. service was attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable by Quebec City standards.

In the summer when it gets very busy in Quebec City, reservations are almost a must to give to piece of mind that you know you will eat in a place of your choosing. Can be done on-line. We arrived a half hour early but they brought us to the front of the long line and found us a table on the outdoor patio at our request. They did say however, that reservations are for inside. Inside would have been fine too but it was such a nice warm evening out....The wait staff were all excellent, friendly and looked like they really liked working there. The food was served promptly even though it was busy. My appetizer was asparagus rolled in prosciutto with a soft boiled egg...excellent and hubby had the French Onion soup...one of the best he had eaten and yes, I agree. We had the pastas, all very good and fresh. Loved every bite and was a reasonable price and generous serving. The location is one of the best..in Lower old town on one of the most historical and charming streets. They do have another location so be sure when making reservations, that you choose the right location in the reservation menu.

Considering the area its located, they don't hustle to get you out soon. In fact its other way around. Food is good. Our server was very friendly with a good sense of humour.

My family and I had a wonderful time - eating fantastic food, and drinking good beer! Prices were reasonable, and the staff was warm and friendly. I'll go here again!

During our 5 day stay in Quebec City, most everywhere we ate was wonderful, but this is one of the standouts. The spinach and blue cheese salad was unforgettable! And almost everything else that was ordered at our table was fantastic. Even the kids loved their dishes. The service was great, the atmosphere was comfortable yet chic, and the food was delicious. You won't be disappointed.
