Sandeep - Pune

Had visited Pune for work and had a quick client meeting followed by a train to catch. So just got into the first restaurant we could find. This is a simple place with mouth watering food. Got so busy in eating that forgot to click a pic. Ordered a Surmai Thali. Yummiest thali I ever had!!

Part I<br/ This place is not where you would go for a date, neither its somewhere you can enjoy your fullest with friends and family,but if you are looking for a place to have some tasty food, and your not rich in both time and money than you hit a jackpot my friend!<br/ <br/ Just near the Shivaji Nagar station,this little bad boy packs some qaulity punch at very affordable rates. This afternoon, I was literally famished and without much inspection, I ended up at a table in here. And it was something I throughly enjoyed!<br/ <br/ The seating and ambiance and staff are just as simple and average as they can get.<br/ I ordered for PANNER TIKKA MASALA, MALAI KOFTA some Chapatis and a few Butter Rotis.<br/ <br/ The Panner Tikka masala was taka-tak and masaledar. It was everything its supposed to be. Red thick gravy which was just the right amount of spicy, with nice and tasty panner cubes in it. The Malai Kofta was no exception, showing a great excellency in taste, as well as quantity. Again, thick and creamy gravy, sweet and soft kofta! I loved todays meal!!<br/ <br/ I would definately like to come here again sometime, not to get some insta worthy pictures or the popular dishes in town. But to indulge myself in some affordable and tasty dishs, and the next time Im going for the non-vegetarian ones!!<br/ <br/ Happy Burping!!!<br/ <br/ Part II<br/ Was in the locality, and was gleaming for a casual non vegetarian joint. So, decided to go for Hotel Sandeep again,as it was one which I had already tried and it was decent. Also, a couple of restaurants which looked appealing had big boards claming that they were pure veg., so not able to keep up much longer, just went in Hotel Sandeep, with the mind set of trying on their non vegetarian variety of food.<br/ <br/ The menu didnt boast of anything specail, so I was going to go for Butter Chicken, and just then the word 'Boneless ' in Masala Boneless Chicken got my attention, and went for it instead. Judging by the name, it seemed it would be really spicy, which was not favoured by me and nor my friend accompanying me, so specially instructed him to make it less spicy. Not being able to conceal the growls form our tummies, we ordered a masala papad. It was on our table, in less than a minute, as if it was just roasted and made up before we even tought of ordering it. It was good, just a good way to pass time waiting for the real stuff. Masala Boneless Chicken actually still looked quite spicy, and still was spicy but withing the spectrum of my culinary comfort. But then, I was in for a major disappointment. Chicken 'boneless ' masala had bones in it! The whole purpose of its name was defeated. My friend seemed to be alright with it. <br/ <br/ I also ordered an EGG SANDWICH then. I wasnt expecting what was there on my table. 4 small pieces of sandwich, placed quite presentably on a plate, with a small bowl of sauce on the centre. The only filing was that of green (not so spicy) chutney, and shredded egg. I liked the fact that it was shredded and not just put between 2 breads,cut in 4 pieces. Also, it was presented in not a very grand way, but it definately wasnt something I expected to happen. <br/ <br/ I would have loved if the bread was brown, and the sandwich was grilled/toasted making it warm and crunchy. I know there isnt anyone from the management to hear me out, let alone implement my suggestions! But still, I love what I do, and want everyone to prepare themselves knowing what they are in for.<br/ <br/ The service was quite vanact,still the waiters werent intrested in doing their jobs, and checking their mobile phones. So the service has been detoriated. The food was good, but its vegetarain counter part was better.<br/ <br/ A good normal place for a lunch or normal dinner. Dont expect an amazing service,but the food is really good, compared to what you are paying for it!<br/ <br/ Happy Burping!!<br/ <br/

Hotel Sandeep is not a fancy restaurant, but with a clean and cozy ambiance, it's a good place for a normal day's lunch or dinner. Pocket friendly and with a lot of items in menu, this restaurant will give you a lot of option. Non-veg items are equally good as veg items, and I can not complain about the service quality.
