We visited Maia restaurant last year during restaurant week and truly enjoyed the experience. We went back there this year with six of us and again we were treated to a wonderful dining experience. I had the lamb chops and the crab appetizer. Both were great! However, please do not leave this restaurant without trying the house coffee. The coffee is brewed from a old family recipe and is probably the best coffee you might ever have. We will be returning to Maia's at least once more during our stay.
Two of us enjoyed dinner here on our visit to PV in early June. We were persuaded to eat here by three very enthusiastic gentlemen as we walked past. The food is unusual and flavorful, service attentive. It was the low season and we didn't have to battle crowds - sat outside despite the heat and largely had the place to ourselves. If you are there and enjoy food, or planning a visit, put Maia on your list. I would not hesitate to return.
We had a very nice meal at Maia during restaurant week. For appetizers we had the Shrimp / Coconut soup served in a coco nut and also the Duck Tacos. The soup was excellent in presentation and flavor, the tacos were fried, a bit of a disappointment. The Pork Spine w/ tomato verdulaga entree was excellent. The spine was like a chop but with the spine attached, verdulaga is also known as purslane, a nice green vegetable, worth trying. We also had the lamb stew, "Molonaise" a mole based sauce over pasta, excellent. For desert, we had the strawberry salad, (super refreshing) and Jericalla, a mole based chocolate custard with ice cream, delicious. Service and environment were very nice, we were outside on the street with a view to the ocean.
