I was actually really liking the music compared to a place I went the night before the DJ was good. The club management ruined the party though by letting in WAY too many people. After paying a cover I ended up leaving before 11pm because the place was so crowded. You couldn't dance. You couldn't walk. Even getting out once I decided to leave took time. Bar is cash only.
I had a great time at this place on Friday. They have new ownership and a new DJ, DJ Tony T, who was awesome. The bartender, James, was friendly and made delicious drinks. My friends and I had a fantastic time ordering drinks and requesting songs. I highly recommend checking it out.
As it is, not going to give a high recommendation because with Covid you can only sit outside and they give you peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Porchside bar is a block away from Commercial Street. It's a two part bar we went to the side that stays open later since the piano side was closing up shop by 10pm. The intimate bar was staffed by two friendly bartenders. Porchside is a you call it drink type of place since there's no menu. The bartenders are happy to look up a drink online if they're unsure of the ingredients of a specific cocktail you're interested in. On a Monday night, it was pretty quiet. My husband and I were the only ones in the bar when we walked in, but about 6 people trailed in shortly afterwards. The playlist was pretty decent and if you want to smoke, just head out to the outdoor porch area and take a seat on one of the many bar stools. My only gripe is that it's cash only here.
