I don't know if I love the sangria very much or have tried too many and very good, but the one here didn't seem like anything else. That is, the price is good and the food is rich, although as they are spikes clearly is not abundant. It's not for dinner at all, it's for a drink and a nice time.
De la Ostia in Providencia is a Spanish restaurant, and really ideal if you are quite hungry and want to head to a place that’s easy on your wallet. The restaurant has a relaxed, but slightly cramped setting, with small tables with the menu dishes written on them. There is a bar counter as well, and some excellent decorations and paintings done up on the walls. You can find almost all of the usual Spanish dishes that you would have heard of- I could think of Chorizos and Tortillas and blood sausages and some of the excellent fish dishes... so we ordered them all.The fish with cheese stuffed inside and the tortilla turned out to be my favourites, and I did not like the taste of the blood sausages. Chorizo was good, and despite placing a large order, the 2 of us could finish off almost everything, and then topped it up by a very good espresso. The taste of the excellently made tortilla lingers on till this day.... yummy.
Tremendous place to transport to Spain from the flavors and pleasant atmosphere.Getting there in time because it's pretty full.Absolutely recommended.
Sangría, mar y tierra, tortilla de potatoes y chorizo, croquetas de jamón, calamares y profiteroles... that's my recommendation of this place. The bad? Always full.
