The service was excellent and I highly recommend trying the meatballs and lasagna - you won't be disappointed! The portions are generous and the flavors are delicious. This restaurant should definitely be on your list to visit.
We are here for dinner to get a good authentic Italian cuisine. We arrived shortly before 6:00 in the evening and were greeted by the Host / Server Post Eile. He placed us near the large windows with a view of the sea. The general ambience of the place is reminiscent of the 60s. Although some parts and furnishings are dated, the restaurant itself is in clean and pointed form and it is not afraid to show its Italian identity. We also liked to use cloths on their tables. It is a small touch, but really adds the old school, warm atmosphere. There is a bar near the entrance, which has a good stock of BC wines and Italian options as well. The service was very good thanks to our very personal and attentive server, which is also the son of the restaurant owner. He gives you some suggestions and is immediately and polite. We also noticed that the restaurant's matriarch is still active in the service staff who spend menus for incoming customers and also speak to the locals. As far as food is concerned, all were excellent real Italian cuisine! At the beginning we had the antipasto a variety of cured vegetables and meat slices that were pollinated with Balsamico vinegar and olive oil. This was served with breadsticks and Italian bread with butter. Our main dishes were very good and filled. The lasagna with meatballs the pasta was Al Dente with rich sauce, generously melted cheese, and the beef was so delicious. The beef Ravioli was also very good pasta was cooked directly, sauce was good, and there was a generous supply of freshly advised parmesan cheese. The pasta here easily surpasses the other possibilities in the city. For desserts we ordered strawberry milkshake and chocolate sun. Oh, these two are so creamy and good! Definitely order them again with different flavors. We definitely come back here. The matriarch of the restaurant also spoke to us and it added the feeling of having a good dinner with your grandmother.
We had dinner here two of our three nights in in town. The service was just wonderful, very traditional Italian. The food was just as good. A very nice relaxed atmosphere with good old fashion service.
Had the fish and chips. The food was good and we enjoyed the beautiful view of the harbour. Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely go again.
La Gondola in Prince Rupert is a beloved classic. It features two areas: a drive-in section that specializes in burgers and shakes, and a traditional Italian restaurant. We opted to dine in the Italian restaurant, which offers lovely views of the water. La Gondola is a nostalgic throwback with its classic dining room and delicious, straightforward food.
