Tizley's Europub - Poulsbo

The staff at this restaurant are excellent, and the food is very good. Just keep in mind that you should take your time and consider your dietary choices carefully. The shepherd's pie was fantastic, and my brother's dish, the bunch riders, was amazing. The chicken chasers were above average, and the pretzel was also very good. While the service was brilliant, it does take a little while.

I happened upon this lovely restaurant while strolling through Poulsbo. It's tucked away in a small alley to the left of the bakery. The food is incredibly authentic German; I had the Wienerschnitzel accompanied by warm German-style potato salad. My wife ordered the Jaeger schnitzel, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It's a delightful little taste of Germany, all without the long flight!

Today, while exploring Poulsbo, Washington, I was eager to try a new lunch spot called Tizley’s EuroPub. However, I encountered a couple of challenges that led me to rate the experience four stars instead of five. For starters, the restaurant is located upstairs, and as far as I know, there is no elevator—just a long staircase to climb. Our visit became a bit disappointing when we discovered the menu was quite limited, and when we tried to order, our server informed us that lunch wouldn't start until noon. We had come specifically for lunch, and after waiting with rumbling stomachs, it struck me as odd that they don’t begin serving lunch until that late. So we ended up having breakfast instead. I decided on a half order of Biscuits and Gravy, while my husband opted for the German-Holstein Schnitzel. My Biscuits and Gravy were delightful—just a single biscuit, split in half, topped with their homemade gravy. The flavors were outstanding, and the gravy was generous—no skimping here! The biscuit had a nice crispness to it, making each bite truly enjoyable. My husband was very pleased with his German-Holstein Schnitzel. In case you’re wondering, a schnitzel is a thick, boneless cutlet, traditionally made from veal but can also be made with pork, chicken, or beef. His was made with pork, breaded, and fried to perfection. It was served with homemade gravy, two eggs on top, and a side of hashbrowns. I took a small taste of his schnitzel, and I have to admit, it was fantastic! Despite missing out on lunch, we were thrilled with our breakfast selections; the food truly was fabulous! Tizley’s has a cozy, charming atmosphere, albeit a bit dated. Our server, Bryce H., deserves a shoutout for being attentive, friendly, and always wearing a big smile! From what I gathered, many items on the menu are homemade and locally sourced. Would I recommend Tizley's? Absolutely, especially for breakfast! I would be curious to see what lunch is like, but I’d certainly hate to miss out on another delicious breakfast. Don’t forget to check out Tizley’s To-Go counter and gift shop, conveniently located next to Sluy’s Bakery along the main road. For those looking to visit, Tizley’s EuroPub is situated at 18928 Front Street Northeast, Poulsbo, Washington, right next to Truelux Candles and Crimson Cove Smokehouse, as well as Sluy’s Bakery. Be prepared that parking can be a bit of a challenge; while street parking is available, it’s often filled up, and though there is a larger parking lot behind the shops near the water, it can be just as difficult to find a spot. The busiest times for parking are often during spring break, summer, and holidays. Today, we found it hard to secure a spot, possibly because many people are out enjoying local establishments post-COVID. Supporting local businesses like Tizley’s is a wonderful way to enjoy great food and drinks. Thanks for continuing to support small businesses and be kind to all living beings!

What a fantastic lunch we had. We went over commemorative day weekend so the place was busy, but the service was fast and very friendly. That's the best German food I had. Can wait to go back.
