Vecchia Masseria - PORTO EMPEDOCLE

We had pizzas topped with local flavors, wood fired and delicious. The host welcomed us with a small glass of homemade drink -maybe fresh wine- and also delicious potatoes, that looked plain but tasted amazing. After dinner the host offered us a limoncello or other drink, we shared one bc I was driving. I couldn't understand why it wasn't more crowded, but people were coming when we left around 9, so maybe it gets more popular later. It is so good! If you are staying near the Scalla dei Turchi, it is worth it to drive here for food! Thank you for a nice meal.

We stayed at this very beautiful farm hotel and had dinner consisting of appetizers and their featured sucking pig. Beautiful views with friendly folks. But . . . We were very disappointed by the tough suckling pig served for our special dinner occasion. It had the consistency of shoe leather. Ken
