Whelan's Irish Pub - Portland

You know a place can't be too bad when people who work there come during their off hours. The bartender was super friendly, the off duty cook was amazing, and the owner was hilarious. I look forward to returning.Food: 5/5

As I came down through Portland City At the hour of twelve at night. Who should I see but the Spanish lady PDX edition of Spanish Lady. OMG only in Portland, Oregon I can find a nice Irish pub with good beer and food. I am not a big pub person but after a day of therapy this place does great wonders on me. Good service and food, what more can I ask for? This is a great place where you can do a jolly jig (no pun intended) but I really had a great time. Who knew a bar would be provided me prime minister quality service. It makes me feel like I am in Dublin myself. It feels so good here. I would come here again because there 's nothing I like better than Shepherd 's pie and some organic beer. I would come here again if I can, not to mention I have no problems boarding my bus back home. This time I would be riding a big green bus soon.

The parking was ridiculous. It was St Patrick's day, so I'll give them that. There wasn't really a spot where to order your drinks, so it took too long to get one drink. The best part was the semi lopsided pool table. The security didn't do much help but to stand there and watch the fights that started to break out, so I split before it got down heavy. I may be from Cali but I do know when uts time to go haha

Always look forward to eating here. Great place for Irish food. The bartender is really friendly and makes you feel welcome. It is also family-friendly before 9pm.Food: 5/5

Should be listed as one of Portland's best neighborhood bars! It's a pleasingly Irish themed pub with a variety of uniquely prepared high quality snacks and entrees to enjoy. The drinks and food alike are more than fairly priced. The service always comes with a welcoming smile from a sincere server in an environment everybody calls everybody a friend. I couldn't conclude without mentioning their shepherd's pie being to-die-for the best Shepherd's pie I've ever had in my life!
