Capacho - Portimão

Lovely atmosphere in this family run restaurant. You can taste some very traditional dishes. We had the chicken dish cooked on chicken blood. May sound unappetising but honestly it was very good. Most unusual flavour. The pork and clams was so so. We tend to try the chef’s specialities when there.

This restaurant never fails to serve excellent fresh food. The service and friendliness of the family who serve you is wonderful. You are made to feel so welcome, even when the restaurant is at full capacity. . We ordered the steak Portuguese, entrecôte steak and slow cooked pork. All the meats were very tender. The profiteroles are delicious (filled with ice cream) and Rebecca very kindly made sure there was plenty of delicious chocolate sauce to suit our needs. I’m definitely going back for another round before they close for the Christmas holidays.

Went to Capacho with a local legend, who owns one of the best bars in Alvor. We all shared the seafood rice and it was fabulous. Service was perfect. Lovely atmosphere. We have been to Alvor many times, but never tried this restaurant before. It's now on our list of must visits. Excellent traditional Portuguese food. A must-try if you have never been before.
