Big Time Burgers Brew - Portage

I found this restaurant to be quite pricey. It's the first place I've ever been to that charges $1.50 for an extra pickle and another $1.50 for ranch dressing. They even have an additional fee for non-cash payments. These extra costs and the overall prices are a downside for me; however, the food was good. They offer a unique rotating special menu each week and have a nice selection of draft beers. The location is also appealing.

We stopped by this restaurant on our way back from Indiana Dunes. Two of us ordered the highly recommended firecracker burger, while one opted for the fried chicken sandwich. The burger was outstanding—just thinking about it makes me hungry! I can't recommend that glorious burger enough. I didn't try the chicken sandwich myself, but I was informed that it was lacking in seasoning and overall not very impressive, so I'd suggest sticking with the burger. The patio is dog-friendly, and they kindly brought out a water bowl for my pup. Our server was attentive and friendly, which made for a pleasant experience. I would definitely return and order the burger again, without a doubt!

The service was prompt and friendly, and they were helpful in recommending popular dishes. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy, and the diner wasn't very busy at all. There's bar seating on one end of the restaurant, while the other side has tables for two to four people (which can be combined for larger groups). The burger itself was large and filling, perhaps a bit too much for my liking. As for the appetizer, it was average and a bit small. I was so full that I had to choose between finishing the gusher or the appetizer, and the burger definitely took precedence. The drink options were great, featuring some unique local choices. There might also be outdoor seating available on nice days. As for parking, there’s street parking available around the building and square.

Food was phenomenal! I got the Classic Cheese burger with bacon and a side of fries. Delicious. If you need salt you can ask for some. Service was absolutely lovely. Our server, Tristan, was friendly, smiling, and was very conversational. Atmosphere was perfect, not too loud. You can pick your seat from the available tables to which is a massive plus!
