But is was! After we complained and asked for the bill, nothing was taken off the bill. Paid $88 for nothing but a stomache ache
I first decided to go to anchor point because of the fantastic patio spot they have looking out towards lake scugog. Upon entering the restaurant my family was greeted by a server named Julianna who was beyond helpful. She had recommendations for drinks and different menu items and was knowledgeable about all aspects of the restaurant’s menus. Her friendly personality really made my family feel welcomed. I find myself frequently coming back to anchor point in Port Perry because of the great food and superb service.
This was one of the few places open on Thanksgiving day. The place was quite busy and not enough staff. However, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our food took longer to arrive but we were completely fine with it. The food tasted good and the salad was fresh. We enjoyed a relaxing meal and drink.
Rude manager!! Bad food!If I could put less than 0 starts to this place I definitely would.I was visiting Port Perry and decided to come back to Anchor point because I remember the food being great.I ordered medium cooked steak with salad and broccoli cheddar soup. When I got my food, the salad looked wrong to me. I took one bite I knew right away that it wasn’t fresh, so i sent it back. I started eating steak but it was nowhere close to being medium. It tastes like the meat was boiled earlier and put on the grill. I didn’t realize something was wrong with a steak from the first bite, I thought they just overcooked it, which was okay, and I could still eat it but then looking closely at it I actually realized it wasn’t freshly cooked. So I left half of the steak and almost didn’t touch broccoli soup because I had no trust in this food anymore.I told this all to the server and she tried talking to the manager, who decided to give me 2$ discount for my order. I didn’t think it was fair so I asked to call a manager so I can explain everything. The manager who worked on October 2, Sunday was the rudest person! The person with this kind of attitude must not work in customer service. She didn’t even listen to me and kept interrupting. Did not apologize even once. Her answer to my question about the food was “We are all trying to survive here”.This is not the answer of restaurant manager. At the end she just turned around as I was talking to her and walked away from the conversation. There were tons of ways to handle this situation but she wasn’t interested in resolving it at all.Terrible experience that ruined my dinner.
My husband and I each ordered the halibut and chips $22 each This was a disaster of a entree. The fish was overcooked and dried out. I asked the server if the fish and chips were a good choice and she led me to believe it was. Total of $66 with no alcohol. I left telling one couple that were just seated to not order the fish and chips. In hindsight I should have refused to pay for the food as it was not acceptable.
