Captain George's Fish & Chips

Passing through Port Hope and stopped for some lunch. Food was pretty good, nothing special. Prices were a bit high for what it was. Doubt I would eat there again.

We are British and my husbands favorite dish is Fish

The fish we ate here was superb. The batter was crisp and in the right amount; the fries were properly done with a good crunch to them yet a soft centre. The only odd thing about the menu is that it is cheaper to order two pieces of fish and a single order of fish separately than to order them together. I have no idea...but you have been warned. -:D

Captain George's is a clean and efficient chippy that's easy to find on Mill Street South, Port Hope. Usual fish and chip store menu and the portions are good. It's just what you'd expect!

Being from the left coast, fish and chips is always a treat when we visit Port Hope and Captains did not let us down. Perfectly battered, cooked to a crisp and tender fish made our day. I had the haddock and loved every bite.
