Yokozna - Port Coquitlam

Not a good customer service. Waited 5 minutes to be seated when it was quiet and not many people were at the restaurant. It took another 15 minutes to get the food.. for combo C and 5 pieces tempura it costed $20 The taste was normal, the atmosphere is normal but clean and many specious. They served a complimentary desert as well. Two pieces of tempura-like ice cream

Our newly discovered sushi place in the neighbourhood. The place is new, spacious and kids friendly. The service is great and the food is pretty good for the price. I would suggest try different things on the menu. Don't just pick their combo box even though it's the easiest and probably best value choice. The food is not traditional Japanese food, but a modernized fusion sushi with creative special rolls like deep fried volcano roll and avocado covered caterpillar roll. Their yakisoba is also one of the better ones we've tried with good portion of vegetable, noodle and meat served on a sizzling plate. Each time we came, they gave us free desserts which are these deep fried ice cream balls drizzled with melted chocolate. The owner saw how much my son liked it and gave him 3 more to take home. The place is not very busy which is great for us as we don't have to wait for a table, we get our food in minutes, and don't have to worry about our kids making too much noise. I do hope this place will get busier as they really deserve more supports from the neighborhood.

A real jewel in the rough tucked away in an unassming plaza in Port Coquitlam, this sushi restaurant contains more than its humble appearance would let on. I had the oyakodon, along with a special roll 'Hotter than Hell ' jalapenos on sushi is novel and a suprisingly good combo), along with a party tray shared with my family. The food is fantastic, and the plating is a lot fancier than most other sushi houses. Likewise, the interior especially the bar area is tasteful and atmospheric. Great food, great atmosphere, and overall a top contender in my long list of sushi restaurants.
