フィードバックを提供するI absolutely love this restaurant! The atmosphere is fantastic as soon as you walk in - with metal music playing, records and guitars on the walls, and music posters everywhere. The staff were friendly and attentive. But the highlight was definitely the food! Every dish I tried on the menu was outstanding. I never thought I would enjoy anything other than sushi rolls, but this place changed my mind - now I can't get enough of their sashimi, it's incredibly fresh and practically melts in your mouth! The DTP burger was also amazing, their food is top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers, and even to those who think they don't like sushi - this is the place to give it a try!
This restaurant always delivers quality sushi every time I visit. While the prices may be on the higher side, you get what you pay for- top-notch sushi. The decor is perfect for fans of Iron Maiden and similar music genres. It is definitely one of the best sushi spots in PoCo Coquitlam and even ranks on my list for Vancouver. This is not your average sushi joint with over-the-top rolls like crazy girl or pimped-out California rolls. This place serves authentic sushi and if you're not familiar with omakase, this might not be the place for you.
I had the most incredible sushi experience at this restaurant. It truly feels like dining in Japan. The chef imports the fish straight from the Japanese fish market, ensuring top quality ingredients for traditional Japanese dishes and unbelievably melt-in-your-mouth sashimi. Be sure to arrive right at opening to avoid a wait, as the chef prefers to work solo to maintain high standards. The wait is absolutely worth it for the exceptional dining experience.
After seeing pictures of aburi nigiri, I wanted to give this place a try. We arrived at around 7 and all the tables were full, so we waited about 20 minutes. It wasn't so bad. We were seated, but we weren't given tea right away. It actually took quite awhile for the server to come take our order and bring us tea. Throughout the night, service was just OK. It was a little bit on the slow side but wasn't super bad. The chef did end up bringing some of our dishes out though. I guess because it was taking awhile to get our food.<br/ <br/ We had the tako wasabi, chopped scallop nigiri, aburi toro nigiri, appetizer sashimi, and ocean wiser roll. I'd say the food got progressively better. Tako wasabi was nicely presented, but it was small and didn't come with seaweed. The ocean wiser roll was ok. The ama ebi got lost with all the other things, so we couldn't really taste it. There was a lot of wild salmon in this roll though, which is nice, but it just overpowered everything. It still was a good roll. The sashimi was good and worth the price. We counted the pieces of fish, and it was actually more than what was said on the menu. It came with tuna, wild salmon, ebi, tako, and aburi saba. My favourite was the saba. It was really good and not too fishy. My boyfriend doesn't really like saba and he even said he liked it. The nigiri was the best part. Chopped scallop was good. The toro was so buttery smooth and delicious. I'd come back to eat it again. Alost considered ordering another one. It is quite expensive for one piece, but it is worth the try. <br/ <br/ Overall the service was ok, but the food makes up for it. It just depends on what you order. The food is on the pricier side, with some being more worth it than others.
Sushi K Kamizato is located on Shaughnessy Street in Downtown Port Coquitlam. It is a traditional sushi house. Chef Keith Kamizato (K Kamizato) creates amazing sushi. His wife manages the restaurant, and she encourages customers to try the original taste of sushi without using soy sauce and/or wasabi. <br/ <br/ Highly recommend to try the Chef's recommendations which are listed on the chalk board. Speak to K Kamizato for ordering secret dishes. <br/ <br/ Super delicious here!
