Barbara Jean's On The Water

One of our favorite goto places. The food is consistently amazing, well prepped, and feels like home cooking to perfection. We never have to wait long for our food to come out. We love to bring friends/family here, from out of town. Love that they provide a complimentary bread basket. This is a casual atmosphere with a great view of the water.

We were visiting Jax this weekend for the airshow and decided to stop in at Barbara Jean's. Our food was very good, and the service was EXCELLENT ! Griffin was our server and did a very good job of staying on top of the 14 people we had. Never had an empty glass. Food was prompt and he was engaging and courteous. Nice job ! We'll be back ! Awesome food ! The she crab soup is the best! The staff is always friendly . Parking can be difficult at times. The view on the water is very relaxing and pretty . Just moved to St Augustine from Boise , Idaho and Barbara Jean's epitomizes the waterfront restaurant. Had a dockside table to watch the boats go by, and sampled the beer selection. The waiter was very knowledgeable and we finally decide on the 3-item selection which included the crab cake...delicious! The bread basket with three varieties was a nice touch, and overall this meal with good portions was very filling for an early afternoon meal. Barbara Jean's is on my list of go-to spots, both for the setting and cuisine !
