While it doesn 't have a pool or other resort type amenities, it is simply the best hotel in the Rochester area. We have never gone so long without traveling since the onset of COVID. When we decided to take a last minute trip to Rochester, we were glad to return to one of our favorite hotels. In my opinion, the Del Monte is about 95% back to their outstanding performance levels while they deal with COVID restrictions that make it difficult to provide all of the services and amenities they do so well. This review is mainly for this stay but trust me-even at 95%, they are so much better than most other properties. Check in was quick and seamless. As a Titanium, I was offered my choice of points or breakfast. My room was spacious, very nicely appointed and squeaky clean. Typical out of town questions for recommendations, etc. were well handled by the attentive front desk staff. One quirk we encountered is the bar closes at 9. That is pretty early for us. Per current New York law, you have to have food if you order drinks. Even if it 's just chips, you need to have food. As the Restaurant closes at 9, so does the bar. Hopefully this will be a thing of the past when we visit next. We enjoyed our breakfasts at their restaurant (Erie Grill). They were excellent as always. The Del Monte is located in downtown Pittsford on the Erie Canal which features miles of trails along the canal. We especially enjoy walking the canal. It 's always nice to come home and when in Rochester, the Del Monte is our home.
Top notch place! I have stayed here several times the past few months and never disappointed. Always welcoming. I travel for work from Massachusetts through New York State from Syracuse to Buffalo to Cleveland Ohio to Northern Indians to Louisville KY. This is one of the best hotels I have found. Reasonable rates. They have spa on property and a very good restaurant Erie Grill. Update Jan 9, 2019. Stayed here again this week for 2 nights. Upon checkout at 04:30 I found my car ransacked. Turns out 2 or 3 vehicle in the parking lot were hit along with 15 total vehicles in the area. This can happen anywhere but this does feel like a safe area. The hotel clerk told me he would have the GM call me later in the day however no call.
My husband and I recently came back from a 4 night stay at the Delmonte Lodge in Pittsford, NY. I am giving it one star for location because that is lovely. This is supposed to be an upscale Marriott property and it definitely does not deliver. The room was so poorly lighted that you literally could not see even with the curtains opened and all of the bathroom lights turned on...as one reviewer wrote, hello darkness my old friend ! There were very few amenities in the room as well...a small bar of soap, a makeup remover cloth and a small bottle of lotion...that was it! The coffee maker is terrible and there was not even a free bottle of water in the room!! As for being able to relax in the room, that is impossible as there is no comfortable seating, except for a funky chaise lounge and a desk chair! Housekeeping is back but only if you request it at the front desk. As for the quality of the housekeeping, it was just so so! We will not be staying at this Marriot Bonvoy Hotel in Pittsford again unless changes are made that address the above complaints!
What an incredibly beautiful hotel. Recently, I was in Upstate New York for business and checked into this gorgeous hotel for a few nights. My room was stunning, it actually made me a little sad that all I did was sleep. From the moment you walk through the front door, you will feel that this is a better hotel than your average 'traveling for work need to stay on a budget ' type of place. We checked in late at night, I think it was after 10pm that first night. Exhausted we valeted the car and walked into this spacious lobby. Candles were burning, reed defusers with fragrant oils were strategically placed throughout and the whole vibe was one of calm stillness. Easy check in and I was off to my room. When I opened the door I was stunned at how beautiful this space was. My room was clean, pretty, comfortable beyond expectations. Plenty of space, outlets and plugs for all of your tech stuff and Aveda products in the bathroom. I enjoyed my stay here, everyone was lovely and I wish I stayed a little longer because I think they have a few breweries and a downtown area here that is worth exploring when the weather isn 't minus 20 degrees.
Loved this place. Hotel is located right on Main street near restaurants and next to a Dunking Donuts and gas station. Also right across from the Pittsford Dairy which you MUST visit (fresh ice cream, fresh dairy, homemade baked goods, cookies, pies, etc). I stayed one night on a package including lodging, breakfast and a 60 massage at their spa. Arrived a little before the massage time to check in. Very friendly staff and easy check-in. Hand sanitizer stations all over, masks worn and signs everywhere reminding about distancing. The room was nothing special but very cozy, clean, and comfortable. The bed was a bit firm for my taste but comforter was soft and plush. They give you individually wrapped slippers, ironing board, mini-fridge, Aveda skin products, large flat screen, opening windows, and coffee setup with a few biscotti crackers. Our package included a cheese platter and bottle of wine also delivered to the room. The massage was great with a very clean spa and friendly employees. The hotel is right next to the canal and has benches to relax on a walking path along the canal. Ample parking behind the hotel and breakfast at the restaurant was good. Disappointed the corned beef hash was not homemade but looked and tasted canned. Friendly servers and good sized offerings. Bottomless coffee and even took a cup to go. Overall great experience. Felt safe, cozy and clean. Will definitely be back to this hotel when I return to Pittsford.
