The Blue Goose Saloon - Pittsburgh

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I'm not a local. We decided to try the fried Brussels sprouts and fried zucchini as appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were flash fried without batter or breading, served with a creamy sweet chili sauce, which was delicious and unique. The zucchini, although a fallback option, stole the show with its fresh, house-made batter. I asked for a side of ranch instead of horseradish, and it was perfect. The marinara was also available. It was the best fried zucchini I've ever had, and I grow my own. Two of us ordered burgers for our meals, while one opted for the shrimp po' boy wrap. My burger was hot and juicy, and I kept it simple with a cheeseburger and ketchup. I could taste the quality of the meat, and the first bite was incredibly flavorful. My husband enjoyed the wrap, but my son couldn't finish his BBQ bacon burger. The fries were cooked well with the skin on; I added salt & pepper, as they were not seasoned. They stood well on their own. The service was excellent in my opinion. Our waitress was laid-back, attentive, and friendly without being pushy. We arrived early on a Friday evening and the restaurant quickly filled up. The manager/owner even pitched in to help our waitress. He was proud when we complimented the appetizers. The beer selection was basic, so I opted for a cocktail, which was made just as I requested. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a good burger and drink. It may not cater to beer enthusiasts or special dietary needs, but what they offer is done exceptionally well. After our meal, I went outside for a smoke and struck up a conversation with another customer who was also a first-timer. He shared how much he enjoyed the restaurant and mentioned that the table next to him were also first-timers who greatly enjoyed their experience. I really wish this restaurant was in my neighborhood.

Three of us went to dinner at this restaurant. The steak I had was delicious and cooked perfectly. My friends also enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be returning soon.

The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the brussel sprouts, potato leek soup, and the fish sandwich, and everything was outstanding.

We have never had anything bad here! The workers/bartender are always so happy and friendly even tho she was running all over the place! The owner is an amazing guy! The food was amazing! The crab cake quesadilla was delicious! Thanks!
