The appetizers were very good with nice portions to share. Drink and beer selection also met our expectation. We definitely would return for lunch or dinner.
The key to the restaurant's success is its location. Situated on the corner of Penn and 10th, it is just a block away from the Convention Center and close to several hotel and resort chains. The restaurants on Penn Street are always packed with customers every night. The menu mainly consists of typical bar food, with their burgers being the most popular choice. The burgers are cooked perfectly to order. The wings, on the other hand, were just average in my opinion. They lacked a bit of spice and relied heavily on the sauce. The soft pretzel sticks were served with plenty of cheese sauce. The beer selection is great, with a variety of options on tap. One night they even had a delicious microbrewed nut brown ale for only $3. It was very tasty. I found it odd that they didn't offer chips and salsa, but they did have homemade potato chips as an alternative. I'll probably skip that next time. The staff was a bit hit or miss, with some being more friendly and attentive than others. Overall, no one was outright rude, but a warmer welcome would have been appreciated.
We had a fantastic meal! Our server was very attentive. The sweet potato crusted chicken salad was amazing. However, the coffee was terrible.
We went for lunch. Salads were plentiful and yummy, chicken and waffles was delicious, excellent Bloody Mary.
Food, staff, and atmosphere is always excellent, been there many times, August Henry’s will always be our go to when we go into town
