フィードバックを提供するWe visited this restaurant for the second time and we absolutely loved it. The room was comfortable with a fantastic view, the food was excellent, and the service was exemplary.
I had a very comfortable stay at this restaurant. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The dinner was excellent, with a good set menu offering plenty of choices. The restaurant also had an impressive selection of wines and whiskies. I particularly enjoyed the smoked haddock risotto and the beef. Breakfast was also very good. The room was comfortable and had everything you would expect. The location was convenient, just a short 5-10 minute walk to the main street. I will definitely visit again.
Adding some soft classical music or something similar in the common areas would enhance the atmosphere. I tried not to eavesdrop on other people's conversations, but I felt a bit self-conscious. It would be nice to have a continental lager beer available.
Firstly , the food was epic. Each plate a work of art and clearly the product of huge talent in the kitchen. The service was efficient and very good. Very good value too. However the general atmosphere and ambience was too staid and stiff for me. The food being fantastic is only part of the overall experience. A little unobtrusive background music would have made conversation and the general mood warmer -anything to soften the general atmosphere and make the acoustics and general feeling less inhibiting. Most of the diners seemed to be residents and we were welcomed with “ ahhh..you’re the non-residents “ . Also , on the night we went there , there were an awful lot of couples sitting in silence , dutifully consuming each course. Obviously this is no fault of the restaurant but along my above comments it all adds up
The food here was amazing and I would highly recommend it and the choice of gins. The review is only 4 stars as we were made to feel a bit like second class citizens as we weren’t residents. Despite booking for the pre theatre meal we were told that we could not avail of the bus to the theatre but had to walk.
