Trattoria Da Mario - PISA

Hidden gem. It was a family run business very homely and great food. The staff didn’t speak great English but this wasn’t an issue. It was a more of a local vibe, great food, great wine, great vibe. Would reccomend!

We asked our driver for a local lunch recommendation and she took us straight to Ristorante Da Mario. It's family owned and very friendly. The staff spoke more limited English than we'd seen in other places, but it was not a limiter. Absolutely amazing spaghetti con vongole! The most impressive, thing, though, was how many large families were eating lunch at 2pm on a Wednesday. It seemed like the perfect encapsulation of Italian culture! One of the other guests was a man doing magic tricks he delighted by 8 year old daughter and had the whole room cracking up! No frills, but very homey, decor.

We had a tasty meal here the fish was cooked to perfection. Desserts are excellent especially the tiramisu. We enjoyed our evening the service is 'no nonsense ' and it helps if you can understand a bit of Italian!

Il signor Mario è una persona davvero deliziosa! ci ha fatto cenare nonostante la tarda ora e ci ha accolti con grande gentilezza e simpatia. il cibo è di ottima qualità a partire dall'antipasto:tagliere di salumi e formaggi toscani. abbiamo preso spaghetti con ragu di cinghiale con pasta fresca fatta dallo chef (che è anche moglie del signor mario) e un'ottima zuppa toscana. tutto grande e in un ambiente familiare e accogliente! Se torno a pisa, torno a mangiare dal mario più consigliato!

Ristornate ottimo, personale molto cordiale, in rapporto prezzo-qualità equilibrato, se un giorno torno a Pisa so dove andare a magiare
