Fredo Il Gelato Artigianale - PIENZA

We absolutely loved Pienza and visiting this gelato shop was just the icing on the cake! I had both the dark chocolate and hazelnut flavoured gelato and they each had delicious deep flavours and a beautiful smooth consistency. Shame we were only there for an afternoon, or I would have gone back again. It was also reasonably priced.

One of the two best gelato places I visited in the month I spent in Italy. The hazelnut was outstanding, as was the chocolate, deep, rich flavors and the creamiest texture. So good!

The title basically says it all. All four of us had different tastes but shared the same opinion. A-MA-ZING!

Fredo Gelato is one of the best I've ever had. On the main street in Pienza, it has a smaller number of flavors than many others, but more than adequate. The gelato is stored in in individual stainless steel canisters so you can't see it, but that us the way to keep it perfectly fresh and at the perfect temperature. The pistachio was like eating the nuts in a creamy gelato. The dark chocolate was superb. If in town don't try any other.

This serves traditional Italian gelato. They have a variety of flavors and sizes, and it’s very cool and refreshing. An excellent treat while walking around this historic city!
