We were promptly sat upon arrival and our server, Tyler, was very attentive and easygoing! Overall, we had a great experience everything was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was clean and inviting (and the lamb was delicious! . I highly recommend stopping by for your next dinner in Center City!
Fantastic Staff, Creative Food, much improved atmosphere. The new location took everything we loved about old Helm South location and made it better. The staff is very friendly and you can feel that everyone is excited about the food they are turning out. The ever changing menu keeps us interested, and the excellent execution keeps us wanting more.
Amazing presentation, wonderfully unique flavor combinations. The staff was also so friendly and gave great suggestions. Everything is seasonal, so come hungry ready to try something new! I'm honestly not sure why the other reviews are so low. Maybe just a bad night? The certainty was not my experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Food was good some dishes were better than others. It wasn't too crowded so it wasn't too loud. Service was slow. We would have had more drinks and maybe dessert but the wait staff weren't very attentive.
**The Food:** **Fennel Ravioli:** The ravioli was delightful, tasting incredibly fresh, and the prosciutto was excellent. Overall, it was a fantastic dish, though it was a bit too salty—something I've noticed with any dish that includes prosciutto. **Lamb:** The lamb had fantastic flavor and was cooked perfectly. However, the cut of meat wasn't the best and turned out to be quite tough. The true highlight of this dish was the accompanying sides, particularly the cabbage that had been cooked for 18 hours; it was delicious, almost melting in your mouth while still retaining some crunch. The lamb pâté served alongside it was also very good. **Branzino:** This dish was another standout. The fish was cooked beautifully and had great flavor. It was served atop chorizo, clams, and fingerling potatoes. Personally, I felt the dish could have been enhanced by eliminating the clams, as the flavors seemed a bit too complex. Overall, I would rate Helm Rittenhouse at 3.5 stars. While there were some highlights, there were also a few disappointments. The service was adequate, but I found it somewhat overpriced for what we received, especially considering they charged for a few pieces of bread. One final note: they did not have any vegetarian or vegan main dishes on the menu, although they might be willing to accommodate special requests.
