Guardhouse Cafe - Philadelphia

Guardhouse Café is a fantastic hidden gem! It's the perfect spot to work remotely, catch up with friends over breakfast, or grab a quick coffee to kickstart your day. I recently went for brunch with a friend while in town and we had a great time. I ordered the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs (not pictured) and some Matcha tea. The French toast was amazing - perfectly soft with crispy edges and delicious flavor. The Bourbon maple syrup and whipped ricotta were tasty additions. The Matcha tea was also spot on. I highly recommend checking out this place! 10/10 would go back again!

I met a colleague at a local event and decided to visit the restaurant the following week. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the cleanliness and pleasant atmosphere, perfect for working on my laptop. I ordered a latte and had a nice chat with the friendly and informative owner. I opted for a plant-based chicken sandwich and some potatoes, and I must say it was the best plant-based meal I've ever had. The sandwich had the most delicious bread, and even included pickles which I normally don't enjoy, but they were fantastic. The potatoes were crispy and perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to come back here regularly, the staff is so welcoming.

The food is really top-notch as well. My daughter ordered the Cobb salad, one of her favorites, and I must say it was the best interpretation of a Cobb salad I've ever had. The peppadew and dressing really took it to the next level. I followed the owner's recommendation and opted for the kamut salad with a hard-boiled egg instead of the roasted egg. The flavors were outstanding, particularly the colatura and delicious mushrooms. I'm not usually a fan of mushrooms, but I was blown away by this dish. The addition of cubed carrots was a nice touch. To wash it all down, we enjoyed an icy matcha latte that was perfectly sweetened. The owner's hospitality truly made us feel special and welcome. It's a feeling I haven't experienced in a restaurant in a long time, and I will definitely be back to Guardhouse Caffe.

Lachsclub is great, avocado toast is the best I had. very friendly staff. never busy. simple parking space. difficult to find

I spent like 25 to 30 bucks on just French toast and some breakfast tacos and apple fritters.I get home and the breakfast burritos were paper thin just a few sprinkles of cheese and 2 tater tots in them each as well as the apple fritters that were like dunkin donuts munchkins size,the french toast was ok .The guy that worked there was alil wierd but I wound up having to order breakfast someplace else after because I was still super hungry. I usually pay what I paid there for a huge delicious breakfast at a diner or restaurant for the same price but to each his own.I think I'm gonna stick to Pete's clownhouse instead .
