Famous 4th Street Delicatessen

I had a challenging Yoga Sculpt class at Corepower that left me feeling humbled and in need of a hearty meal. So, I decided to try Famous 4th Street Deli, a place I had noticed before and heard great things about. Walking in, I was immediately drawn to the authentic Jewish deli atmosphere with tiled floors, dried sausages hanging, and employees slicing meat behind the counter. After a short wait in line, I ordered a pastrami and egg sandwich that was massive and satisfying. It was a delicious meal that I enjoyed at my girlfriend's apartment. While not as good as Katz's, it was still excellent and I plan to return whenever I'm in town. The perfect way to refuel after a challenging workout. Thank you, 4th Street Deli, for a great experience!

I really love this Deli! It's definitely the best place to get authentic corned beef hash. The freshly cut fries are fantastic as well. You won't be disappointed!

Found out the other day that my boyfriend had never been here, so we changed that! We came in on Friday morning. We're able to find street parking easily which is always a good thing! We started with the pickles which I love! I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs. My boyfriend had the grilled Reuben with the potato latkes. We also had the fries. Everything was incredible, including the service! I love it here. Always have. It's beautiful to me-the windows, the light fixtures, the tile. Such a wonderful place to enjoy some really great food! Yes, it can expensive but the servings are huge. You can absolutely split a sandwich or you can take leftovers home and enjoy it again! Well worth it!

If you are ever in Philadelphia, you must stop at this place! I wish we lived closer and could go more often! This time we tried a few new dishes and all were delicious. Also tried a few we had before and were still just as good! I don't think you can go wrong here! Food: Potato pancakes just as good as I remembered and love the apple sauce where my husband prefers the sour cream. Husband got the huge roast beef and loved it! Plenty of meat! Good rye bread and he enjoyed the potato salad Chicken noodle soup-absolutely delicious!!! Macaroni salad-so good! Hot dog-on the challah bread-so delicious! The way a hot dog should be. Carrot Cake-so tasty Funfetti Cake-tasty as well Chocolate chip cookies-the best! The inside is not too large and some of the tables are a little close but I think that is part of the charm. A lot of famous people have visited throughout the years and they have pictures on the walls as well as placards at the tables where they have sat. Our server was attentive and even though it was a full house she checked on us and the kitchen was rocking with getting food out. Love that at the end of the meal everyone gets a decent size chocolate chip cookie!

What can be said that hasn't already been said? Famous 4th Street is fantastic. It's home! It's authentic! It's friendly! And the portions.....YIKES...huge! Just as it should be! I've had their tongue, corned beef, sable, salmon, cookies, and fries. WOW-the fries-perfect. Not greasy-just great! Worth whatever sacrifice you make-parking? waiting? price? Definitely worth it all!
