Drunken Sailor Marcoola Qld

I've been having take away meals from here every Friday for the last month and have yet to be disappointed.Their batter is light and tasty and the fish is in thick, tender and juicy fillets. The Sweet Potato scallops/cakes are very tasty and cooked to perfection. The calamari is tender, though the serve size is quite small. Their hamburgers are of good quality, though not as many fillings as you may be used to when you order one with 'the lot'. I'm an Aussie, I'd like to see some beetroot.Staff are friendly and charming. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great serve of fish and chips.

After previously enjoying great coffee and lunch at Cuba Street, we were eagerly anticipating our take-away on a chilly Sunday evening, at the recently opened Drunken Sailor next door. There was no fresh fish or any product on display, which is normally not a good sign. However, we ordered fish, chips, and calamari. Talk about disappointment! What we received was a greasy mess of tasteless, dreadful food. It was impossible to estimate how old the cooking oil was, obviously pre-cooked fish in terrible batter.and soggy chips. The meal ended up in the rubbish bin, and we ended up with a chocolate biscuit to take the most unpleasant taste away. You have a great opportunity to thrive here, with little opposition....so lift your act guys!

New coffee shop/ burger bar at Marcoola, lives up to reputation of neighbour and associate Cuba Street, great burgers and coffee ! Friendly staff and service.

Lovely people running this place. Extras added to our order which was very nice. Had more than enough for one meal and left some fish for lunch next day. Re-heated in microwave.......yummy!Thanks guys. Our unit was rubbish but your foodand service was a saving grace for a ruined weekend.

This seemed a new takeaway at the time. Nice fish and chips with good batter. Were out of local prawns at the time which was disappointing.
