フィードバックを提供するI visited this restaurant twice during my trip to Petersburg, where my mother grew up. Our family is truly amazed by the restoration of this old building—it's a work of art! Both of my visits exceeded my expectations. I'm also pleased to see they serve water in larger glasses. The food was unique and delicious; you don’t come to a place like this expecting the same menu items you could get at a chain restaurant like Applebee's. You won't be disappointed!
One criticism I have is regarding the water service. It was presented in an interesting bottle, but it seemed a bit over-the-top, almost like a science experiment. The concept was good, but it felt like it missed the mark. Additionally, our food took about 40 minutes to arrive, which was a bit too long, but we enjoyed the atmosphere while we waited. Overall, it was a great experience and a fun outing—especially for the shrimp and gratin. Thank you!
Unbelievably high prices. My wife and I dined here Friday evening. I had a cheese burger my wife had peel your own shrimp. We each had a beer and I asked for a glass of neat Jefferson that came in a shot glass. The bill came to $85 not including tip and nothing was all that great. It took us 1.5 hours to get our food. We saw our waitress taking people bread so I asked if we could get some as well or if that was an starter that wasn 't on the menu? she stated, “sure, it free but you have to ask for it the waitress asked us multiple times what we ordered and we asked twice for our beer. The place is beautiful and set in old Town Petersburg which is really nice but I won 't return considering the price, wait and what you get. There are tons of better places in to visit within a few steps of this place.
The only fruit that should go in an Old Fashioned is 1 peel of an orange. Not 2 strawberries, 1 lime, 1 lemon, 1 whole orange slice all muddled together making the drink pulpy. Atmosphere was great until waitstaff started vacuuming the upstairs portion. Bartenders took forever to serve us
I risk a friendship posting this, but I will risk it. One of my best friends took me and my wife there for lunch. We were amazed at the architecture and location. We were sat at a booth downstairs, the upstairs is nicer, but they don 't want the staff to have to go up the steps till it gets busy ? . They serve your water from a cool bottle that is tiny into your tiny water glasses shot glasses ? . 1. My wife got the Ceasars salad. It was a plate of romaine lettuce with a little sardine on the plate. Frankly she had no idea how to eat it, it was embarrassing, i thought, hey, are we on a hidden camera show? finally she cut the leaves into eat able pieces with her knife. $9 for .42 cents worth of lettuce . I got a sandwich pork for $13. Thankfully it had fries, although few. The pork tasted like. ..? Mush. Served on a hot dog bun sized roll, with shredded carrots? Carrots on a sandwich? No! My friend was buying so I never complain to avoid embarrassing him. I was so angry that someone could open a place to serve food for that price and try so little to please. No one at the table was happy, and we all left hungry. Stop trying to be so sophisticated and learn how to cook. Here 's the WORST part My friend and his wife were unemployed and took us there to be hospitable. They don 't have the money to spend $50 plus tip on a lunch. That 's why I am so angry for this restaurants failure. BTW, please don 't reply with 'thank you for the constructive criticism ',....really
