Smitty's Family Restaurant

During our visit to Peterborough, we decided to have breakfast at this restaurant one morning and were so impressed that we returned for lunch another day. I decided to try the Ginger Beef Bowl, expecting something ordinary, but I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful presentation, fresh flavors, and delicious taste. My husband ordered the Salisbury Steak and also thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was pleasant on both occasions, with friendly staff making our visit enjoyable. We will definitely be returning in the future.

A great place for breakfast, and, while one more farmer's sausage would have me give the food a 5/5, the breakfast itself was excellent as was the atmosphere. The owner not only comes out to say hello, she helps out to ensure smooth, fast service. If Will is your server, the great experience is even better. There are several longtime employees, which says a lot of good things about the place.

I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The chicken quesadilla with fries was delicious, and the chicken Caesar salad was perfect as well. Our server, Kathy, was delightful. I will definitely return in the future.

The service at this restaurant was terrible. Our orders were not correct, and my sister and I had to wait for our meals to be remade. By the time our food arrived, my other sister's meal had already been eaten. We had to ask the waitress twice for water, and she only remembered after I spilled jam on my clothes. We ended up taking our food to-go because it took so long. The manager was apologetic and remade our order, but it still tasted bad.

Delicious breakfast with the friendliest staff. Met the owner and had a delightful conversation with travel advice for Bobcaygeon. 100% positive. It will be a bright spot in your day.
