Montana's Cookhouse - Peterborough

My boyfriend and I go to Montana's a few times a year, and we are usually happy with our experience when we leave.

I ordered takeout and was put on hold for 5 minutes. I had to call back half a dozen times before anyone picked up. It was a complete waste of money with terrible food.

The ribs were good, but not fall-off-the-bone tender. The mushroom smothered chicken was a generous portion of chicken with mushroom sauce, served with rice and steamed vegetables.

Went on a Wednesday evening for a bday party and arrived 6 pm. Drink orders were taken quickly. Prob arrived 10 min later. The place was absolutely packed. Anyway gave our food orders. Waitress was trying to be good but could tell she was rushed. Our meals, 7 of us including 3 kids under 10 took about 45 minutes ! I know it was busy. But the food is nothing special so should not take that long. I had apple pecan salad that was lacking in dressing. My husband didn't get gravy. But we didn't see her again to ask for stuff. Please hire more kitchen staff maybe ??? Food quality is not worth the wait. Won't be back. Better places to go.

Good food for a fast food road house kind of place. Lots of different things on the menu to choose from from salads, two ribs, two hamburgers, chicken fingers, roast beef, shepherds pie I believe and so much more. One of my favourite things that they had on the menu was deep-fried cheesecake. Unfortunately they have taken it off the menu which has caused us not to go into the restaurant very often. The nachos at one point were fantastic however they've change the menu once again and I'm not crazy about the new topping. Wait staff are very friendly. Ask for Megan, she is one of the most amazing waitresses in Peterborough and will look after you very well.
