Murena - PESCARA

It wasn't my first visit and as usual it didn't let me down.. Nice selection of hot and cold antipasti and the arrosto misto will be in my memory for a while.

With so many wonderful seafood restaurants along the Adriatic coast we have had some incredible and inventive meals. Murena was recommended to us by a friend in Fano who grew up in Pescara, but was a bitter disappointment. I ordered the starter of mussels and clams and a green salad. My husband ordered the little gnocchi with shrimp. His meal arrived immediately but was overlooked and greasy, smothered in heavy (looked like store-bought) tomato sauce, with tiny little shrimp the size of the end of your finger, and one normal sized with the head and shell...cooked to mush. My salad arrived with his meal and was only some shredded lettuce. Nothing else. My mussels and clams starter arrived after my husband was finished eating. They were very tasty though in spite of the timing. For the price we've had far better seafood on this coast. Would not recommend this restaurant.

A Wonderful Surprise! Went here with family and friends who live in the Abuzzo Region and whowho have been coming here for years. For us, it was such a great and unexpected experience. The dishes of the freshest seafood kept appearing at our table and each one delighted us! We seemed to eat for hours and we were in heaven the whole time. Prices were very reasonable, service was great and location excellent. We will come here again next year on our next visit without a doubt!

We ordered the mixed antipasto which were good but too many as we then ordered a main each, fish soup and fried fish mix. Way too much food but it was delicious. Prices were reasonable but the quality (tad too oily) and the slow service was not as good another seafood restaurant next to the harbor we ate at earlier. Still worth it just or the mixed antipasto.
