The Painted Bird Bar & Kitchen - Perth

Great setting...nice warm tones to get you in a relaxed mood ready for an onslaught of taste bud madness. Waitress was great didn't even know she was there most of the time. Had some tapas to start...the Soft-Shell Crab didn't get a claw in, it disappeared in seconds yum. The trio cheese was a stinker...needs alot of work...or just get rid of it. Then came the mains... I had the pork belly and it was absolutely mouthwatering... after the first mouthful I totally forgot about the cheese dish...thank god!! My partner had the Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast. She didn't speak for ages...which confirmed she was in poultry paradise...luckily enough I was able to get a taste...divine. By this point we were flying in the culinary clouds ready to crash land for dessert. Destination...House Made Sticky Date Pudding. We decided to share it...bad move... the butterscotch raspberry coulis made this dish SING!! It was that good if it weren't my partner sitting next to me I would have definitely commenced a hostile takeover!! Bottom line... left there wanting more... definitely worth a drive to the city for.

The food was lovely from Tapas to Mains. I highly recommend the watermelon tapas and the Tikka skewers. The pork belly is divine as well. The service was fantastic and very attentive. My only criticism is the wine is fairly expensive for the choices they had. We will definitely be returning.

I had my birthday celebration dinner here last night with 15 of my friends and the whole experience was amazing! The food, the customer service, the decor and the ambience were all faultless. I had the salmon from the 'specials ' and I can honestly say that it was one of the best meals I have ever had! The only thing to fault was the entry door that remained ajar whenever someone entered the restaurant and on a cold night like last night, the chill wind that came in was not welcome! I will definitely be back and will recommend The Painted Bird, as will my friends who were with me!

This is a must if ever in the City and need to dine at a fabbie restaurant. This is a DBB restaurant (Definitely Be Back)!!!! Fish was scrumptious, service was excellent and we were even treated to an acoustic music session by 2 very gifted guitar players and vocalists...!!!! Love this place..
