Poplar Grove Cheese - Penticton

We went there for the cheese but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of their wine. The tiger blue cheese is excellent. The Viognier is very good indeed.

Stopped in here with my wife after a recommendation from our waiter at a vineyard in the area for locally produced cheese. They have a limited variety of cheese, but we got what we came for. The proprietors also run their own winery, which we tasted and purchased. The woman doing the samples and tasting was very friendly and helpful.

We stopped by for some cheese and ended up buying them all! Added bonus is that you get to do wine pairings with the cheese tasting as well.

Using local fresh sources, the cheeses we sampled (and purchased!) were outstanding. Truely world class, and coming from Quebec where we have great cheese, these artists create real special, delicious treats. Their Camembert and Blue Cheeses were our favourites. The Brie is something to enjoy also. Curds are "available on occasion" which sets the great mood of the wonderful people here.

I know they sell cheese here but really, the smell takes away from the wine tasting! The wine tasting should be far away from the cheese room! Just saying!
