Merle's American Tavern - Peculiar

The food was absolutely fantastic! I ordered the catfish along with curly potato wedge fries and coleslaw, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The next time I'm in Kansas City, I will definitely return! The customer service was also excellent—highly recommended!

The atmosphere here is fantastic and relaxing, complemented by delicious, fresh, and homemade food. The Cuban sandwich is excellent. Our server Carly was very friendly and attentive.

We used to love Merle’s. However, it’s going downhill. They recently changed their menu, and no longer have baked potatoes. They charge an additional $3 for a side salad, when the cost difference is $1.50 between that and fries on the menu. When my salad came, it was browned and full of the hard parts that aren’t easily edible. (The salad was refunded. . Our waitress also didn’t seem like she wanted to be here.
