フィードバックを提供するMy wife and I have been loyal customers of Pearl City for nearly 10 years, so we were very saddened to find it closed. My wife, who is Japanese, often says that Pearl City’s ramen was the closest to what she enjoyed growing up in Japan. However, we visited the Waimalu location yesterday, and our experience was disappointing. The broth was overly diluted with water, and both the bean sprouts and meat were boiled rather than stir-fried. The flavor was overwhelmingly bland and lacked the richness we associate with ramen; it tasted more like pho. I believe the chef needs proper training in the authentic Ezogiku recipe. We are eagerly awaiting the reopening of the restaurant in its new location.
What can I say? The food is incredible, the customer service is unbeatable, and all of this comes at the best prices on the island. Highly recommended—a hidden gem!
I ordered the Charsiu-Ramen combo and it was ready in just 3-4 minutes. Since my hotel was just around the corner, the roasted rice, gyoza, and ramen were all piping hot when I got back. The charsiu came with five generous slices of meat, which is more than I've ever received at any other ramen restaurant. The charsiu was flavorful and had very little fat. The only downside is that this place was a bit challenging to locate, but it was definitely worth the search! I will definitely return on my next visit to Oahu with my friends.
Delicious robbers! The noodles are perfectly cooked. Service was good, our meal came fast, we were satisfied with everything.
