The food here is much better than Chipotle. We haven't eaten in Chipotle in a few years, decided to try it because they moved to Ellenton and we had a gift card. In the middle of our meal my daughter and I said this is not all that great, Símple is better! I gave you not only a fifth star, because every time we go there, there is no match with the portions that are served. Once I was given very little by the Veggies and when I asked if I had a little more, I was told that I would have to be charged if I wanted more. I have no more problem to pay if I wanted extra, but if an employee gives me a very small amount, then give me another thing I think is a regular amount, I don't think someone should be charged. Usually the shares are decent. On the other day I was there and the same happened again, but with the rice. After paying the, I noticed how small the portions in the bowl saw to buy a side of rice. We eat here often and love the food. Only my opinion, but I think if someone pays $19.00 I got the combo and the additional side of rice) for a meal, I think the portions should be something more consistent. Except I think you'll be great!
That said, having a place like this within minutes of my home was a true blessing. It turned into the only takeout restaurant I frequented during what felt like a prison sentence living in that area. The concept is similar to Chipotle, but it is so much better. Throughout my months there, I never encountered any issues. My go-to orders were bowls filled mostly with barbacoa, beef, or chicken. It was the only good local food option near me, and they served proper iced tea—either sweet or unsweetened—with finely shaved ice. This restaurant is one of the few things I miss about the area. The staff, management, and owners were consistently incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful, making my time there much easier. When I return for a visit, this will be the only place I eat. It’s disheartening to see negative reviews from those who seem to complain about trivial matters. Those folks can join the long line at Taco Bell just down the road on Highway 301. I genuinely hope this place thrives; we need more eateries like it, especially in a location like this. People don’t realize how valuable they are. I took for granted the variety of food options available in my home state, which I returned to after nearly a year there. Back home, I have numerous great places nearby, offering all kinds of ethnic cuisines and other choices. Most of my previous experiences in Florida were in Miami, where good food is abundant. Let’s not allow fast-food chains and other mediocre, low-quality, unhealthy options to dominate the landscape as they have in Florida.
My wife and I stopped by while I was picking up some supplies. The two gentlemen behind the counter were friendly and very helpful since it was our first visit. My wife ordered the chicken nachos, and I opted for two tacos with beans and rice, though I substituted extra beans for the rice. The nachos were light and crispy, not greasy at all, and the chicken was well-seasoned. We will definitely be coming back!
What a fantastic place! After moving to the area, we used to visit Chipotle frequently until we discovered Simple, and we were not disappointed! My husband loves their Mexican rice, while I prefer the quinoa. If I could wish for one thing, it would be for them to offer plain brown rice or regular quinoa instead of the three-color variety—that's my only suggestion! We really enjoy the salsas, jalapeños, and limes they provide. We tried both the steak and chicken, and both were delicious! Their mixed vegetables are equally tasty.
