Cafe' Elzig - PARMA

Was there for lunch. Location was fine, good view. Food was not special, not very tasty, but also not really bad. Let’s say 5,5 out of 10

Ok food but what we found most disappointing was that while they have a menu in English when we didn't understand the question asked in Italian after finishing our lunch we then got ignored I'm pretty certain the server commented for all to hear about us not speaking Italian.. (most places will try to help get over any language barrier but not this one)

I can't believe you can eat that bad in Parma. Terrible don't even stop we had pasta and was so bad no way. Shame !!! Horrible no gastar ni tiempo ni dinero ahí hay muchos sitios donde comer este son duda no lo es

Stopped here for the menu del giorno after a visit to the Duomo. Rather wished we had walked on a bit further and found somewhere else to eat. One of the most disappointing meals of our week in Italy.

Sorry this is so late but I overlooked it at the time and was disappointed with the few reviews I saw afterwards. Admittedly we only stopped for a glass of prosecco after visiting the Duomo. I ordered at the bar with a very friendly lady owner in my worst Italian and was warmly welcomed by the few locals. We sat outside and were served with chips and a delicious smoke salmon sandwich complimentary with the drinks. Obviously we had to have a second glass if only to show appreciation. Ignore some of these reports and see for yourself what it is like. You may be pleasantly surprised as were we.
