I was lucky to find this store open on a Sunday afternoon when most are closed. He guided me through what I like about chocolate and helped me choose ones that I would love. He succeeded! Other chocolate boutiques I did not fare as well. I only wish I had bought more before we moved onward in France!
My experience refers to the other boutique in Paris, 13 rue Duban (Metro La Muette), just off rue de Passy in the 16th arrondissement. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here, especially if you're visiting the Marmottan Monet Museum and you can sample your pastries in the Ranelagh gardens, just in front of the museum. What can I say? As one of France's most prize-winning pastry chefs (youngest Meilleur Ouvrier de France, MOF) and world champion of desserts plus many other titles, you cannot be disappointed. After having tasted a wide range of Pascal Caffet's exquisite éclairs, pastries (try the Las Vegas, which won him the title of MOF), macarons, caramels and chocolates (for chocolate lovers try the Brazil, which is 100% cacao but surprisingly not that bitter), I can tell you it is worth the detour in Paris to taste chef Caffet's creations for yourself. I love how they are not too sweet. What's more, the staff are so down-to-earth and friendly, which makes the whole experience just perfect. I have a more detailed review plus photos at [hidden link]
Pascal Caffet has been granted the titles of Meilleur Ouvrier de France Champion du Monde des Métiers du Dessert, in other words among the best in chocolates and pastries. Well deserved titles as what he prepares is perfect. Many different flavors, very subtle, light on sugar, incredibly good and refined. His Paris boutique is not a restaurant, although you can eat the chocolates you'll purchase on the spot or even try one. The cakes you will have to take away. You have to wait for half an hour anyway before eating them to enjoy their full flavors as they are kept in the cold. The boutique is brand new, very light, spotless and the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. There is a wide choice, going from chocolate bars to pralines, including sumptuous marshmallows, or classic or inventive cakes, all with the best ingredients. Warmly recommended.

My husband and I stopped at Pascal Caffet on a recent day trip to Reims from Paris. I had read that M. Caffet had recently earned the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France. The title is well-deserved. The chocolate was some of the best I have ever had! Our only complaint is that the shop's credit card machine was not working at the time of our visit. We paid in cash but were given 20 euros in coins for our change! Definitely recommend the stop.
