Oya Cafe - Paris

Great to spend an afternoon games between friends! the beverage card is not very important but we find the essential! :)

Clean place with many games.They are friendly and want to help but we did not enjoy the game they recommended. It was probably a nice family game but with our younger one being 18 years old, it felt bland. We regretted not trying the two games we wanted to try and saw there, even though they told us it would not be great for us. We should have taken the opportunity to try them anyway and decide for ourselves if we would like them or not.My biggest complaint is the price. At 6 euros per person the first game, it might be OK for singles. For a family, it gets close to the price of buying the game and playing at home!For those not familiar, it is not a restaurant or a cafe where you go to drink or eat. It is a friendly place where you go to play games. You get to drink fruit juice to refresh yourself, that's it.

I went there with my girl, it was an excellent time. number of people doesn't matter as long as you can all play a game together. The owner actually collects all the board game he is a huge fan of the board game I believe. moreover, he is introducing and willing to explain how to play every single board game. To play a game, it costs 6 euros per pax comes with a cup of drink. you can play as long as you want but to change your game gotta pay extra 3 or 4 as I remember. go and have fun :) p.s. the owner can speak only french.

I am living in Paris and always seeking for something new to do/see. After having searched online I went to this cafe with some friends. It was a rainy and cold Sunday afternoon. The staff is surprisingly friendly ( an exception in Paris!), the first guy asked us what we usually play, and after 5 minutes he came back with a game (can't stop). At the beginning I thought it was a game for children, but then I saw the strategy behind it and I couldn't really stop playing it. The staff is teaching you at first how to play the game, they make sure the rules are understood by everyone, and time by time when playing they come and check also if you are having fun. They look like having fun as well. I saw one of them sitting with a group of guys for 15 minutes almost playing with them until they understood all the rules. There is a nice atmosphere around, also very stimulating for children. A place for all the ages. The cafe is serving soft drinks, included in a kind of formula within the game played.

Living in the neighborhood, I spent several times in front of this play bar telling me that it could be a nice experience. I wasn't disappointed. the concept is simple, playing and discovering board games between family or friends around a glass (no alcohol). The staff is super welcoming. it offers 5 games in functions of your desires and requests, to you to make your choice. for me I didn’t know any of the 5 games to this also allows to discover games coming out of the eternal monopoly and trivial continues. then, explanation of the rules and they let you continue but are available in case of need. brief super evening that gave me the urge to come back very quickly with other friends but also to buy the games discovered.
