フィードバックを提供するHi everyone! Hope you are all doing well. This review is more of a takeout review as were in the mood for Cuban food and decided to order in via DoorDash. Cannot comment on the service outside of the DoorDash delivery service which was excellent. The driver called me to resolve an issue with the order and he was extremely attentive. Casa Dorado did provide me with some good options as they were apparently out of croquettes, so we opted for the corn empanadas. That said, I will say that we did order pretty late so I suspect this may have something to do with it but the food was very greasy overall, especially with the empanadas. For our main courses we ordered the Grilled Fish and Roast Pork (with Onions and Mojo Sauce) with White Rice and Mashed Green Plantains (I.e. FuFu in Spanish). Again the rice was a little greasy as well but to be fair it was pretty late. The FuFu, Fish and Pork were good so no complaints there at all. Truthfully, Cuban food restaurants often diminish on the quality of their food as it gets near to closing. Not saying this is what happened here but it's a big possibility. Giving them a three stars as I really don't want to discourage anyone from trying them out as again the food was overall good and we did order late. I am definitely going to give them another shot and will visit them in the restaurant earlier in the day next time. I will make sure to provide an update at that time to be fair to them. My advice if you are going to order in from them, make sure you are ordering early. Thanks and hope this helps!
Really wanted this place to be good Cuban food since its very close to our home, but it was just ok. We likely will not return. The Pollo Empanizado was good but the rice was just so-so, the congri was very dry, the pork was mostly fat, the tostones were not tostones I dont know what they were, and the beans were old. The yuca frita was ok, crispy outside but they were to big around and very mushy inside, and the side of dipping sauce with it was cold and terrible (all butter flavor). They also served us some weird cold nacho chips with a horrible.processed cheese sauce over top. We didn't order this, our waitress just brought it out as an appetizer of some sort which we could have done without. Anyway, we were very disappointed. I did give feedback to our very soft spoken waitress...who we could barely hear the whole time...so they could try to improve. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get and the onbiance was good. However, we were the only ones in the restaurant at 9pm on a Saturday evening, that probably said it all before we even walked in the door but we still gave it a shot. We will go somewhere else next time.
Sadly had an awful experience. The food was lousy and the service too. Palomilla was hard as a rock; lechon had no flavor. The poor waitress seemed like it was her first day and no one trained her. She also has zero peripheral vision. We’d been in the empty restaurant (around 6pm) for ten minutes and she was working behind the counter and didn’t notice we were there…until I called out.
Excellent menu, food was nice and fresh (and Hot). It hit the spot.
Horrible service, food was ****. Steak fajitas were dry, overcooked and tough. I had to ask for a tortilla to put the meat into. They gave me ONE, cold. Tostones were dried out and cold. Cuban pizza was garbage. Never again.
