The lady running the register said the Australian Apricot fruit cake was the same. IT IS NOT. I took one bite and threw theentire cake away. It was inedible. Very disappointed. Would not have wasted money on it had she not said it tasted the same asthe Mary of Puddin' Hill.
Just bought a beautiful apple pie from this place!! Our senior class trip stopped by here and they enjoyed stopping in for yummy cookies, fudge and candy.
Great desserts. You have cakes, cheesecakes, brownies, biscuits and candy. The caramel turtle pecan cheesecake is amazing. They are also considered the oldest bakery in Texas. Worth a visit if you are near Palestine, TX.
Caution for online shoppers: I recently ordered from Eilenberger's Bakery via Goldbelly on a Sunday and ran into some issues. After placing my order, I realized I had made a mistake and tried to change it. I wasn't looking to cancel, just to modify. However, Goldbelly told me it was too late, even though I reached out just two hours after my order was placed. To make matters worse, they disconnected the call, saying they were overwhelmed and that their system was down. I attempted to communicate with them through texts, which is their preferred method, but received no response. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach the bakery either, as they were closed on Sundays. While I understand that Goldbelly shares some of the responsibility here, they are the direct service for Eilenberger. Typically, I order from a well-known fruitcake bakery nearby, and after this experience, I won't be returning to Eilenberger. I'll stick with my previous bakery for next year's order.
I purchased a few cookies and really enjoyed the praline cookie. However, the others were dry or had an odd taste, like the snickerdoodle. My daughter wasn't able to finish the M&M cookie either.
