Cafe Mambo - Paia

The restaurant was not busy at first, but when a few more people came in, it became overwhelming for the lone server. It took a long time to receive our overpriced moderate portion of food.

Just like everyone else, we had to try the crispy duck fajitas at this restaurant. They were excellent. The portions were very generous and the presentation was well done. We were able to customize them to our liking. We also took a peek at other dishes and everything looked delicious. The prices were very reasonable, especially for a restaurant in a small beach town like this one, reminiscent of the villages along the Oregon coast. The service was a bit apathetic, but acceptable. The drinks seemed a little off in taste. Despite these minor issues, we will definitely be returning.

The crispy duck was exceptional and delicious! I would eat it on anything.

When we arrived, we were able to select a table of our choice as it wasn't busy at all at 7pm. It did pick up thereafter. The Crispy Duck Fajitas were great, as was the Burger. What I really liked was the Coconut Creme Brulee...nice, rich cold coconut custard with a warm, crispy layer of caramelized sugar.

Moved to Maui, walked past Music and happy hour was on the menu ..
