I’ve tried it three times now, and each time, the pastries have required additional work to make them edible. Additionally, it seems like there are often young kids answering the phone or working the register. On one occasion, I was in Owosso, and the owner allowed her son to skateboard or roller skate around the shop, which wouldn’t have been an issue if there hadn't been a line of customers. It certainly wasn’t a pleasant experience, to say the least. I've also heard that the staff doesn’t receive any of the tips given during purchases; supposedly, all the tip money goes to support the owner’s next venture. If this is true, they should definitely make it clear. Considering the price and the quality, I’d prefer to drive to Mary’s Cakery at this point.
If you order items fresh, this bakery can be quite decent; however, if you opt to buy from the display case, the pastries often taste several days old—hard and unappetizing. I've tried purchasing from the counter three times and ended up throwing everything away because it was too stale to eat. One time in Owosso, the owner allowed their son to skateboard or roller skate around the shop while there was a line of customers, which was far from ideal. I've also heard that the staff doesn't get to keep tips from purchases, as that money goes to the owner's charity. If that's true, it should definitely be made clear. Given the prices and the quality, I would much rather make the trip to Mary’s Cakery instead.
